The top-ranked, 1-0 Florida Gators of coach Urban Meyer welcomed the 0-1 Troy Trojans of coach Larry Blakeney to Gainesville for the second ever Belt match-up.  Florida's All-SEC QB Tim Tebow threw 4 touchdown passes while rushing for another score as the Gators overcame some early turnovers on a rainy day to roll to a 56-6 rout of the Trojans.  The teams traded punts twice before the rain started first effecting Troy as RB DuJuan Harris fumbled after a hit from Florida's DE Jermaine Cunningham that was recovered by Gators' DE Justin Trattou at the Trojans' 29-yard line.  A 4-play drive was capped by Tebow's 6-yard touchdown pass to WR Deonte Thompson giving Florida a 7-0 lead.  The Gators' next drive ended when Troy's All-Sun Belt DE Brandon Lang forced a fumble from Florida's RB Emmanuel Moody that was recovered by Trojans' LB David McDowell at the Troy 39-yard line.  Nine plays later, Trojans' PK Sam Glusman kicked a 45-yard field goal to keep Troy within 4 points at 7-3 as the 1st quarter ended.  When Tebow's fumble on the second play of the new quarter was recovered by Trojans' LB Donnell Golden at Florida's 40-yard line, Troy seemed to be ready to challenge the Gators' supremacy.  While the Florida defense held, the Trojans still looked to close in as Glusman set-up for a 38-yard field goal attempt but WR Austin Silvoy holding for the kick let the wet ball slip through his hands resulting in an 8-yard loss & taking all momentum away from Troy.  Florida never looked back as they scored 28 points in the 2nd quarter to take the game out of reach.  Tebow finished the 5-play, 65-yard drive with a 36-yard touchdown pass to WR Riley Cooper for a 14-3 Gators' lead.  A 5-play, 71-yard scoring drive was highlighted by a 38-yard run from Florida's RB Jeff Demps before Tebow finished the drive with a 4-yard touchdown run for a 21-3 edge for the Gators.  After Florida's CB Janoris Jenkins intercepted Trojans' All-Sun Belt QB Levi Brown at the Troy 33-yard line.  On the next play, Tebow threw a 33-yard touchdown pass to Thompson for a 28-3 advantage.  The Gators' finished the scoring barrage with a 24-yard touchdown run from Demps for a 35-3 halftime lead.  The 3rd quarter started the same way the 2nd quarter had ended with Florida driving 60 yards in 6 plays & Tebow throwing a 32-yard touchdown pass to RB Brandon James pushing the lead to 42-3.  A 7-play, 62-yard drive was capped by RB Chris Rainey's 1-yard touchdown run for a 49-3 lead before Troy finally got back on the scoreboard with a 42-yard field goal from Glusman just before the end of the 3rd quarter.  The only points of the final quarter came when Florida's back-up QB John Brantley threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to RB Mike Gillislee.  Tebow finished with 237 yards passing with 4 touchdowns as well as 75 yards rushing with a score.  Brown threw for 66 yards with an interception as well as being sacked 3 times in the loss.  Florida finished the season 13-1, ranked 3rd nationally while the Trojans finished 9-4.  Troy would play for The Belt again in 2010.
