The 7th ranked, 7-0 Oklahoma State Cowboys of coach Mike Gundy traveled to Austin to meet the top-ranked, 7-0 Texas Longhorns of coach Mack Brown.  Texas' QB Colt McCoy threw for 2 touchdowns & rushed for another as the Longhorns claimed The Belt for the third time in their history with a 28-24 win.  The teams traded punts to open the game before Texas put together an 11-play, 93-yard scoring drive with McCoy completing 7 of 8 pass attempts on the drive.  The touchdown came on a 14-yard pass to WR Jordan Shipley giving the Longhorns a 7-0 lead.  Late in the opening quarter, Oklahoma State's All-Big XII RB Kendall Hunter fumbled as the Cowboys appeared to be moving for the tying score.  Texas' All-Big XII LB Sergio Kindle recovered at the Longhorns' 9-yard line  allowing McCoy to lead his second 90+ yard scoring drive of the game.  It took 9 plays before Texas' RB Vondrell McGee carried 14 yards off left tackle giving the Longhorns a 14-0 lead.  Oklahoma State responded with their first scoring drive of the game; covering 65 yards in 9 plays, Kendall redeemed himself from the earlier fumble with a 23-yard touchdown run around left end to get the Cowboys on the scoreboard at 14-7.  McCoy completed all 6 of his pass attempts on a 9-play, 80-yard drive capped by a 17-yard touchdown pass to WR Quan Cosby giving the Longhorns a 21-7 lead with 4:18 left in the half.  On the ensuing kick-off, Oklahoma State's CB Perrish Cox returned the kick 52 yards to the Texas' 29-yard line.  Seven plays later, Cowboys' QB Zac Robinson found WR Bo Bowling on a 9-yard touchdown pass sending the teams to intermission with the Longhorns leading 21-14.  Texas' first drive of the 3rd quarter looked similar to its' other scoring drives with one exception.  As the Longhorns moved deep into Oklahoma State's territory, McCoy dropped to pass from the Cowboys' 21-yard line.  McCoy's pass was intercepted by Cox at the 6-yard line but the play was nullified as Oklahoma State's LB Andre Sexton was called for roughing-the-passer penalty giving Texas another chance to extend their lead.  Two plays later, McCoy called his own number & scored on a 3-yard quarterback draw giving the Longhorns a 28-14 lead.  The Cowboys with a 9-play, 78-yard drive highlighted by a leaping 20-yard reception by Oklahoma State's All-Big XII WR Dez Bryant that gave the Cowboys the ball at the Texas' 1-yard line.  Oklahoma State's RB Keith Toston scored on the next play to close to within a touchdown at 28-21.  Late in the 3rd quarter, Cowboys' CB Jacob Lacey intercepted McCoy & Oklahoma State drove to the Longhorns' 22-yard line before Cowboys' PK Dan Bailey kicked a 39-yard field goal leaving Oklahoma State trailing 28-24 with 12:58 left in the game.  Texas took 7:31 off the clock, driving to the Cowboys' 10-yard line before McCoy fumbled & Oklahoma State's DT Jeray Chatham recovered for the Cowboys.  Oklahoma State failed on a 4th down attempt at their own 30-yard line & the Longhorns drove to the Cowboys' 1-yard line forcing Oklahoma State to use their remaining time outs.  McCoy was unable to get a clinching score as his pass to Texas' RB Chris Ogbonnaya but the Cowboys were 99 yards from the end zone with no time outs & on 0:33 left in the game.  Robinson's passing got Oklahoma State to midfield but his final pass fell incomplete.  McCoy finished with 391 yards passing with 2 touchdowns as well as an interception while Shipley added 15 catches for 168 yards with a touchdown.  Robinson threw for 199 yards with a touchdown while Hunter rushed for 161 yards with a touchdown.  Texas finished the season 12-1, ranked 4th nationally while the Cowboys finished 9-4, ranked 16th nationally.  Oklahoma State would play for The Belt again in 2 weeks.
