The 2nd ranked, 9-0 Texas Tech Red Raiders of coach Mike Leach welcomed the 8th ranked, 8-1 Oklahoma State Cowboys of coach Mike Gundy.  The Cowboys had already held The Belt this season when they defeated Missouri only to lose the title to Texas; this was their chance to reclaim their momentum.  The Red Raiders scored touchdowns on 7 straight possessions as QB Graham Harrell threw 6 touchdown passes in a 56-20 Texas Tech rout of Oklahoma State.  The Cowboys could not have asked for a better start to the game when Harrell fumbled on the Red Raiders' third play & Oklahoma State's LB Patrick Levine recovered at the Texas Tech 31-yard line.  Cowboys' All-Big XII RB Kendall Hunter took 3 plays to get into the end zone.  He caught a 3-yard pass, broke loose for a 26-yard run, then scored on a 2-yard run giving Oklahoma State a 7-0 lead just 2:30 into the game but then Harrell & the Red Raiders' offense started clicking.  Texas Tech covered 80 yards in 5 plays, highlighted by a 38-yard run by Red Raiders' RB Baron Batch, as Harrell connected with WR Edward Britton on a 16-yard touchdown pass to tie the game at 7-7.  After forcing a Cowboys' punt, Texas Tech went 70 yards in 11 plays for the go-ahead score; a 4-yard touchdown pass from Harrell to WR Eric Morris.  Another Oklahoma State punt pinned the ball at the Red Raiders' 3-yard line which only gave Harrell the chance to accumulate more offensive stats.  Harrell completed 10 of 12 pass attempts for 91 yards including a 9-yard touchdown pass to All-Big XII WR Michael Crabtree giving Texas Tech a 21-7 lead.  The teams traded touchdowns before the half with the Cowboys getting a 2-yard touchdown run from RB Keith Toston while the Red Raiders got a 3-yard touchdown run from RB Shannon Woods sending the teams to intermission with Texas Tech leading 28-14.  Oklahoma State's hopes of keeping up with the Red Raiders' high scoring offense ended when TE Brandon Pettigrew fumbled after a hit from Texas Tech's S Darcel McBath that was recovered by Red Raiders' S Dan Charbonnet at the Cowboys' 49-yard line.  Harrell's 9-yard touchdown pass to Crabtree ended the 9-play drive, pushed the score to 35-14, & virtually ended any hopes Oklahoma State had of rallying for a win.  The teams traded scores to end the 3rd quarter as Hunter scored on a 4-yard touchdown run for the Cowboys before Harrell threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to Crabtree for a 42-20 lead.  The 4th quarter saw Harrell throw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Woods & back-up QB Taylor Potts throw a 16-yard pass to Woods for the final points.  Harrell finished with 456 yards passing with 6 touchdowns while Cowboys' QB Zac Robinson threw for 182 yards with an interception & Hunter rushed for 112 yards with his 2 scores in the loss.  Texas Tech finished the season 11-2, ranked 12th nationally while the Cowboys finished 9-4, ranked 16th nationally.  Oklahoma State would play for The Belt again in 2 weeks.
