The 5-6 Wyoming Cowboys of coach Joe Tiller traveled to Honolulu to meet the 3-6 Hawaii Rainbow Warriors of coach Bob Wagner.  Wyoming's QB John Gustin threw for 281 yards with a touchdown as the Cowboys rallied form a 10-3 halftime deficit to claim a 13-10 victory to retain The Belt.  Hawaii's RB Eddie Klaneski scored the only points of the 1st quarter on a 16-yard touchdown run.  The teams exchanged field goals in the 2nd quarter with Wyoming's PK Cory Wedel hitting from 49 yards & Hawaii's PK Carlton Oswalt from 28 yards giving the Rainbow Warriors a 10-3 halftime lead.  The Cowboys tied the game in the 3rd quarter when Gustin found All-WAC WR Marcus Harris for a 7-yard touchdown pass.  Wedel’s 20-yard field goal in the 4th quarter was the difference in the game.  Wyoming’s All-WAC RB Ryan Christopherson rushed for 122 yards, WR Brent Tillman had 7 catches for 181 yards, & the defense held the Rainbow Warriors to just 45 yards passing.  For Hawaii, RB Tupu Alualu rushed for 122 yards.  This marked the 4th time overall & the 3rd time in the last 4 seasons that The Belt would not be defended in a bowl game.  Wyoming finished the season 6-6 while the Rainbow Warriors finished 3-8-1.  Hawaii would play for The Belt again in 1996.
