The 23rd ranked, 5-0 Colorado State Rams of coach Sonny Lubick met the 7th ranked, 4-0 Arizona Wildcats.  Colorado State's QB Anthoney Hill threw for 2 touchdowns & All-WAC DE Sean Moran recovered a fumble that he returned 77 yards for a touchdown as the Rams claimed The Belt with a 21-16 upset for their first Belt reign.  The Rams took the lead in the 1st quarter when Hill found TE Justin Shull for a 10-yard touchdown pass to complete an 81-yard drive.  Arizona’s All-American PK Steve McLaughlin converted field goals from 47 & 44 yards to keep the Wildcats close at 7-6.  Hill & Shull connected again for a 37-yard touchdown pass in the 2nd quarter as the Rams took a 14-6 halftime lead.  Arizona drove to the Colorado State 11-yard line when Rams’ LB Garrett Sand hit Wildcats’ QB Dan White the Wildcats' quarterback fumbled the ball.  Moran recovered White’s fumble & rambled to the end zone for a 21-6 Colorado State lead.  McLaughlin’s third field goal of the game came from 42 yards making the score Colorado State 21 Arizona 9 early in the 4th quarter.  White hit WR Richard Dice for a 6-yard touchdown pass capping a 68-yard drive with 7:02 to play but the Wildcats still trailed 21-16.  After forcing the Rams to punt, Arizona appeared to be driving for the go-ahead score but Colorado State's All-WAC S Greg Myers intercepted White’s pass with 2:26 to play.  Arizona had a final chance with 0:48 but White’s four incomplete passes ended the game & started the Rams’ celebration.  Hill finished with 251 passing with his 2 touchdowns & an interception.  White threw for 199 yards with a touchdown as well as an interception, All-Pac 10 RB Ontiwaun Carter ran for 224 yards & the Wildcats held the ball for 37:33 of the game but it was the points the mattered.  The Wildcats finished the season 8-4; ranked 20th nationally while the Rams finished 10-2, WAC Champions & ranked 16th nationally.  Arizona would play for The Belt again in 1995.
